The great Canadian Toonie at Old Mill Park in Campbellford Ontario

Campbellford, Ontario holds many secrets and one that stands out right in the middle of the down town is a huge metal… TOONIE? The reason for Campbellford erecting a 27 foot Toonie is because it is home to the designer of the coin, Brent Townsend. Brent is an internationally recognized wildlife artist and wanted to come up with a strong symbol for Canada, so he designed the infamous Polar Bear standing on an ice flow. The giant $2 coin, that was apparently crafted by inmates at the local penitentiary, is located in Old Mill Park along the Trent-Severn Waterway.
